Divorce doesn’t just end a relationship; it leaves a trace. Every fight, every silence, every night spent in sadness has a vibrational frequency that lingers in the home long after the person is gone. Love and joy vibrate high. Conflict, loneliness, and grief vibrate low. If you’ve been feeling stuck since your divorce, your home may still be holding onto that low frequency.

My own story

I know this from more than theory. Facing my second divorce in my late forties, while moving to a new country, left me feeling completely alone and unmoored. But my own knowledge of feng shui let me rebuild. I used these same cures and rituals on myself, cared for my own self-love area, and kept going deeper into my own healing. Along the way, I created my own rituals to stay connected to nature and to who I really am, and each time, I come back stronger and more balanced.

Here’s how to clear it and call your energy back.

02

Cleanse the space

Start with the whole home; smudging works well, but give extra attention to the bedroom, especially the mattress and bedding. That’s where the most energetic exchange happened, and where the ex’s imprint lingers longest. If you can’t replace them, use a Solfeggio 528 Hz tuning fork to restore the energy, and a Solfeggio 963 Hz tuning fork to invite love back in.

It’s also essential to get rid of any of your own old underwear from that relationship. Underwear holds some of the strongest personal energy of any object, since it sits closest to the body and to the most intimate, private part of a person’s energy field. Worn during moments of a love that ultimately went unfulfilled, it carries the memory of that longing, and keeping it in your space keeps that imprint active in your home, making it much harder to fully clear the past and reclaim the space, and your body, as your own.

03

Give yourself time

Self-love has to come first. Keep a heart-shaped rose quartz by your bed. A calming herbal bath with calendula helps you feel grounded again; fresh basil to dissolve rage; and sunflower petals to bring joy back into your life.

04

Only when you’re ready, invite romance back

In Feng Shui, the bedroom should speak the language of partnership. Think in pairs: two nightstands, two cushions, paired artwork, or symbols of love and togetherness. Add a soft touch of pink to invite loving, nurturing energy. Fresh flowers or an image of two happy birds can also symbolize harmony, companionship, and connection.

To awaken a more passionate energy, prepare a herbal bath with red rose, ylang-ylang, and patchouli. Afterwards, light a pair of tea-light candles with the same sensual scents, adding a subtle hint of cinnamon to bring in the Fire element and ignite warmth, passion, and romance.

Look at the whole Baguá

A proper mapping of your home can reveal if your romance area is imbalanced, but often the real block isn’t there at all; it’s in the self-knowledge area, which sits diagonally opposite on the Baguá. These two areas mirror each other. If your self-knowledge area is weak, you haven’t fully recognized your own potential, and that will always show up as an imbalance in love too. Both areas belong to the earth element, so something like a large mirror or glass object there can be a problem; water washing over earth, leaving you ungrounded and unsupported. The fix is simple: bring the Earth element back in.

The “Adoçamento” ritual

The adoçamento ritual is an ancient practise of making life sweeter. Inspired by the word’s meaning, it invites you to restore sweetness, love, and harmony within yourself before sharing them with someone else.

The energetic divorce ritual

For a stronger release, there’s the energetic divorce ritual. Two candles, one for you, one for the ex; tied together with a twisted cord, a sharp object like scissors placed between them. As the candles burn, the intention is set: his energy returns to him, and your power returns fully to you. This one is powerful, and best done with a trained healer rather than alone.

If any of this resonates with you, a professional Baguá mapping with a Feng Shui and Space Energy Alignment practitioner can help identify where the imbalance exists, allowing you to reconnect with yourself, restore harmony, and create a home that reflects who you are becoming.
